The Friends of Claytor Lake have begun the construction of the new abutment off Clark Road in the upper part of Claytor Lake. Virginia Shoreline has been contracted to do the construction along with the approval of Appalachian Power, The Pulaski County Board of Supervisors, and the Virginia Department of Transportation. This abutment will allow FOCL’s Clean Up operations to get over Loman’s Ferry bridge and begin cleaning up the upper part of Claytor Lake. This project has taken close to 2 years to develop and permit and has an estimated cost of $200,000 to provide clean up services to those in the upper lake. The Friends of Claytor Lake are very excited to start this new chapter in our clean up program.
